KCDA Supports No Kill
Welcome to Kansas City Dog Advocates! Minimize

KCDA is a community of concerned dog owners united in the pursuit of legislative and education initiatives that improve the lives of dogs and responsible pet owners.

Don't forget to visit our
community website to join our organization!  We are working on many exciting new projects and can use your help!

Our biggest project right now is helping to promote the film, All Roads Lead Home, to help kick off the message of bringing The No Kill Solution to the Metro.  More details to come on this one but look for this movie, filmed in Kansas City, to open in September.  Click on the pic to visit the website and view the trailer!

A Very Special Dog in Need Minimize

06/08 - Nikko (now Knikko) has been adopted!!  He is living with a very nice young woman that is very busy spoiling him like he deserves.  No more hard kennel floors for this boy, he is now an official bed hog!  We can't give out a lot more details as we don't want this poor boy harrassed anymore.  He's perfectly safe now that he is a court certified, DNA tested mutt.  But why take a chance...

Read the history below...

04/08 -- Nikko is doing GREAT in foster care!  As suspected, all he needed to do was burn off 8 months worth of energy.  He is still a high energy dog but is more than happy to snuggle on the couch once he's had his walk in.  He's even made friends with the resident cats!

Here is a picture of Nikko with his foster family - the dog ones at least.  And no, they don't have zombie eyes in real life!  Stella, the dog on the far right is Nikko's girlfriend.  Grommit, on the left and SweetP have helped show him the ropes.

Nikko has moved on and left his sad story behind him.  While he has forgiven and forgot, the members of Kansas City Dog Advocates are not able to.  We will not cease to fight for dogs like Nikko and the rights of responsible dog owners. If you would like to join KCDA in our quest to demand change in Kansas City's Animal Control Department, please click on the link to the right and volunteer your talents to our effort.  We can bring change to this city!  But together, we must demand it!

If you have missed the beginning of Nikko's story please check it out here.

If you are a pet lover it is imperative you register to vote and VOTE for pet friendly candidates.  The November elections are fast approaching and we need everyone to get out and vote for Pet Friendly candidates and policies - the deadline has passed for the primaries so get it done so you can vote in the general election!  There are countless issues to base your vote on and "pet friendliness" is only one of them.  However, we've found that a politicians views on pets and pet ownership often indicates their ability to make decisions on all issues.  If they can't figure out something as simple as dog parks - how can they figure out issues as complex as TIF and public transit systems!

Click here for: Jackson County, Johnson County, Wyandotte County.

Please help KCDA in our mission!

NOTE: Donations are not tax deductible.

This handsome guy was abandoned in a heavily wooded area, cold and starving. Luckily, some kids found him before it was too late. Fargo absolutely loves people and is extremely happy.  He's truly an adorable little lover boy!  Contact The Animal Rescue Alliance to adopt this cutie!
