KCDA is a community of concerned dog owners united in the pursuit of legislative and education initiatives that improve the lives of dogs and responsible pet owners.

Don't forget to visit our
community website to join our organization!  We are working on many exciting new projects and can use your help!

***KCDA 101: What we do and how you can get involved***

Information from KCDA 101:  What simple steps can you take to get involved politically in our community?  
  • Register to vote.
  • Meet your city council member and state representatives.
  • Go to fund raising events, non pet related community events.  Just stick out your hand and say hello.      Â
  • Or send an email introducing yourself and what matters are important to you.
  • Sign up for their newsletter or follow their blog. 
  • Find them on Facebook, MySpace, Twitter.
  • When elections come around, learn about the views of the candidates in your community.
  • Attend candidate forums.
  • Help with campaigns - its as easy as stuffing envelopes!
  • Educate others and encourage them to vote.  
  • Sign up for KCDA eNews and forward to your friends.
  • Arrange for KCDA to present to your group.
  • Feeling bold?  Run for office!

Please help KCDA in our mission!

With donations of $10 or more you will receive a free "KCDA:  Fighting BSL & MSN" toolkit on disc.  This will contain our Breed ID presentation, Effective Dog Law presentation, How to Rally the Troops document and our Anti-BSL and "Think Again" brochures, Ledy Van Kavage's article on "Reckless Owners" and a synopsis of the failures and health risks associated with Mandatory Spay/Neuter.  Also, the added bonus of Calgary's model Animal Control program.
